Training:  Ayushma obtained her B.S. in Biomedical Sciences from Rochester Institute of Technology and B.A. in Psychology from the University at Albany. She furthered her education by earning a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from St. John Fisher University. During her graduate counseling internship, Ayushma gained experience at Delphi Rise outpatient services before transitioning to a full-time role as a school-based prevention specialist. As a licensed mental health counselor, Ayushma has provided person-centered care to adolescents and teens in school settings, adults in high-risk communities and individuals with developmental disabilities in outpatient settings. At GVP, Ayushma specializes in providing Comprehensive DBT, CBT for anxiety and depression, and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD).

Clinical Expertise: Ayushma specializes in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), a highly effective treatment modality for individuals grappling with emotional dysregulation, impulsivity, and interpersonal difficulties. Additionally, Ayushma has extensive training and experience using a range of evidence-based therapeutic interventions to treat mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and trauma-related disorders, including Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT).

Approach: Ayushma utilizes a person-centered approach, and is dedicated to guiding individuals on their journey towards emotional wellness and personal development. She believes in fostering a safe, non-judgmental space, and actively collaborates with individuals to establish healthy therapeutic alliances. Ayushma tailors therapy sessions to address the distinct needs and objectives of each individual, with the overarching goal of empowering them to enhance resilience, foster effective coping mechanisms, and nurture self-awareness for navigating life's complexities more effectively.
